Grand Canyon- Reach your Goals!

Last year, we discussed goal setting in January, and  I discussed a few of my goals with you. I finally accomplished one of my goals which required a lot of hiking this summer. It sure feels good to be done with this goal of hiking rim to rim in a day!!

Grand Canyon- Small and Simple Things

Last week, I was able to hike 26 miles rim to rim in the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is stunning. We happened to come upon this amazing waterfall. The water eroded the rocks creating this waterfall which even formed a tunnel. I want to leave you with the message that great things can be created in your life with small and simple acts such as working hard in school, listening to your parents, being nice to others, etc... You guys amaze me! Keep up the good work!!

    Mindful March

It is the second week of Mindful March! This month, I have been teaching mindfulness and breathing techniques on how to relax the mind and body. We will continue the mindfulness theme until April.

This week's challenge is to start a mindful practice or breathing activities each day for 3-5minutes! You can do this by focusing on taking deep breaths. For example, imagine that your body is like a balloon filling up as you breathe in, and emptying as you breathe out. Let your ribs expand out to the sides, like a balloon, expanding and then let the air out, like a balloon that is emptying. The balloon expands and then the air goes out. I like to count to 4 as I do this activity. Then, I count to 4 as the air goes out. Try the strategies below to help prevent worrying!!
